About Joan
Joan, a career software analyst, reinvented herself
as an artist when her technical career ended. She was quickly drawn into drawing and painting classes at Pikes Peak Community College,
Colorado Springs, Colorado. The spontaneity and intensity of watercolor and the ability to describe the magnificence of the Colorado landscape
on a two-dimensional surface took her breath away, and she became a full-time landscape artist. Her student work was published in the College
Art and Literature Catalog the three consecutive years she attended classes. Now, as a new resident of Lewes, Delaware, a whole new environment is available, and she is actively exploring and painting
the old-world architecture in Lewes and the wind-blown pines and sand dunes along the Henlopen Park beaches. Her paintings have been on display in many National and International Exhibitions, and she was fortunate to be selected as one
of 60 artists to exhibit in the Colorado Governor's Art Show for three consecutive years, 2019, 2020, 2021. She has been represented at galleries in
Denver and Colorado Springs and is a signature member of both the Colorado Watercolor Society and the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society. She is also actively
involved in online painting classes and critique groups. Joan still uses her software experience designing and developing webpages.
